Born June 15, 1988, in Ürümqi, Xinjiang, China, Yu Menglong (于朦胧), also known internationally as Alan Yu, was a multi‐talented performer—actor, singer, model, and video/music director—who built a broad fan base with his sensitivity, charm, and evolving artistry.
Yu was born in Urumqi, the capital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
Education: He attended the Beijing Institute of Performing Arts.
His earliest public exposure came in 2007, when he competed in a regional edition of My Show! My Style! (SMG), where he was among the Top 16 in the Xi’an province.
In 2010 and again in 2013, Yu took part in Hunan Television’s singing competition Super Boy. In 2010 he was eliminated; in 2013 he advanced to the national top 10.
His acting debut came in 2011 via a short film called The Little Prince.

On September 11, 2025, Yu Menglong died in Beijing after falling from a building.
His management (studio) released a statement saying "police have ruled out any criminality" in the incident.
